I doubt that “Oil Pump” is the technical term for this, but I found it in the cemetery. This town is an old oil town and these can be found randomly throughout town. It’s no longer in working order, but I thought it was neat. Another natural “still life”.

I don’t know how it happened, but my baby girl is 6 months old today! It’s strange how 6 months of pregnancy can feel like 6 years, but 6 months flies by once the baby arrives. It’s sad to know that I will never have another newborn but at the same time I’m looking forward to seeing Grace’s personality develop and how she’ll interact with her big brother and sister. Right now she watches them with fascination and Dylan can make her laugh out loud like no one else! I can’t wait until she’s walking and talking and we can do things as a family that are harder to do with a baby. At the same time I’ll definitely miss having a cuddly baby sleeping next to me at night. I’ll miss the closeness we share when nursing, the way she looks at me adoringly in the mornings when she wakes up. It’s so bittersweet. I did a mini-photo shoot with her this afternoon. I took a ton of pictures and of course my favorite one is the very first one I took! Figures.

I saw this old spicket when walking in the cemetery. It’s kind of a natural “still life”.

This is a daylily from my yard. I think the color is spectacular. Pretty pleased with the DOF in the picture too. I don’t know if it qualifies for “still life”. Oh well, I like it anyhow!

I took this out at the bay today. It’s a picture of one of my best friends and her little boy (he’s 17 mos.). I thought this was a sweet capture and sort of fits the “half” theme of the week.

Rachel spent the past week at theater camp. The play this year was, “Alice in Wonderland”. She was part of the caterpillar. She absolutely loved it and can’t wait until next year! To learn more about this program visit http://www.mctinc.org/

The right “half” of Dylan. We went to the Bay today to stay cool in this heat. I can’t believe Dyl left his hat on all day! Here he was watching the other kids playing in the spicket. It took him a while, but eventually he joined in!

Not the best moon pic, my zoom sucks! This was around 7.30pm so it was still light outside. I hope to get a better zoom lens in the future.
